Do you want to find a fun way to honor Martin Luther King, Jr. Day as a family? Look no further than the 11th Annual MLK Youth Parade in Midtown Houston, on Saturday, January 14, 2017. The parade will kick off at noon, at the intersection of San Jacinto and Elgin Street, and will continue until 1:30 p.m. Admission is free!
What Can You Catch at This Year’s Event
The parade is being sponsored, in part, by Cricket Wireless and JJO Radio, and co-led by the Stephen F. Austin High School marching band out of Houston, and the Huntington High School Marching Band from Shreveport, LA. It will be announced by “Jammin” Jimmy Olson, H2 and Misty, from JJO Radio.
The parade is slated to feature 10 parade floats as well as 20 marching bands! Organizers are expecting close to 200,000 spectators at this year’s event, plus the more than 4 million viewers likely to enjoy the parade as it is broadcast, in both English and Spanish, through NTD TV-New York and Univision TV.
